What we do
At DBR Research, we know that your project can involve a challenging mix of questions, methods, and goals. We understand that the research context can change, and that what you find at various stages of research can introduce new challenges. DBR Research is set up to help you manage these changes and challenges to produce the strongest, most impactful results.
We specialise in conducting impactful health and ageing-related research that involves patients and the public and communities across the voluntary and health and social care sectors. At DBR Research, we don’t just describe patterns and differences in your data. Instead, we analyse and explain them. With over 30 years’ experience, we can develop and carry out research programmes to a high standard. We can also advise on all stages of your planned or ongoing research. Whatever your needs, we are here to help. We offer the following services:
Conducting research
- Developing a stand-alone qualitative research programme or component within a larger, multi-method project
- Conducting scoping and literature reviews to provide a firm basis for the project’s research questions, methods, and outputs
- Collecting, coding, analysing and, where appropriate, integrating diverse data (for example, focus group, interview, ethnographic and survey data)
- Building meaningful patient and public involvement into research, from inception through to dissemination and recommendations
- Translating scientific findings to non-scientific audiences, including service users and members in the third and policy sectors
- Writing, reviewing and editing funding proposals, conference presentations, and outputs
- Summarising and disseminating research findings in multiple formats (for example, conference presentations and posters, lay summaries and reports, social media)
Advice and consultation
We can also advise you on:
- The best methods to use to answer specific research questions – and how to respond to new challenges and findings as they arise
- How to achieve real, meaningful and sustained patient and public involvement in research
- How to generate the highest-quality data collection and analysis, professional presentations, high-quality scientific publishing, and writing for non-academic audiences
